The deadline to submit nominations for the annual ACTR service award is November 15.
This award, originally established in memory of Jane Barley and Fred Johnson, is given annually to recognize outstanding service to ACTR. It is presented at the annual ACTR membership meeting.
The award is given to individuals who are members of ACTR in good standing and who have demonstrated prominent service to ACTR reflected in their active involvement in ACTR’s work and their efforts to promote ACTR’s mission and goals, as well as demonstrated devotion to the teaching of Russian, at any level to any population of learners, evidenced by work in the classroom, in ACTR activities, and beyond, as these were the qualities exemplified by Jane Barley and Fred Johnson.
Nominations are welcomed in the form of a letter that summarizes the nominee’s contributions to ACTR and the field of Russian studies and may include other information, such as professional accomplishments, personal qualities, or other relevant information. Educational background and employment information may be included, but the nomination does not require a curriculum vitae.
