This Teachers’ Lounge will address a timeless issue in Russian-language teaching: how to enable students to acquire core building blocks of grammatical accuracy within a communicative framework that strives for authenticity. We will explore ways to focus on specific points of grammar in meaningful communicative contexts, framing item-based drills as stepping stones to authentic communication. Participants are encouraged to share their strategies for scaffolding grammar acquisition in meaningful contexts and formats, whether in prepared 3-5-minute mini-presentations or spontaneously during the discussion.

Discussion moderated by Susan Kresin, University of California, Los Angeles
