This session explores generative AI tools beyond ChatGPT that can be used to support learning in the Russian as a Foreign Language classroom. Molly Blasing will address the best available AI voice chatbots for Russian and demonstrate how they can be used to support independent practice with verb conjugation, vocabulary drilling, and conversational situations. Kit Pribble will demonstrate how to leverage AI image generators to create interactive tasks and games for Novice and Intermediate learners. Both speakers will examine the strengths and limitations of competing AI models, offering practical insights for classroom integration.
We will spend the last 10-15 minutes of this Teachers' Lounge brainstorming ideas for “Share-out” panels for the spring ACTR Virtual International Conference. Proposal deadline: December 15. See the Call for Proposals for more information. If you are a graduate student (non-member) requesting a registration fee waiver, email the committee co-chairs to get your registration code at eroby@friendsbalt.org or vok1@pitt.edu.
